The content was developed to give prospective students interested in athletics a general overview of what St. Lawrence has to offer while also giving the reader a glimpse into life at St. Lawrence from the perspective of student-athletes and alumni. I worked with our Sports Information team and coaches to tailor the content specifically to the needs and interests of prospective student-athletes. To create a sense of movement I used silhouetted images of our featured students in action. To give the profile images an anchor on the page I used geometric shapes as a background for each profile and lines from one profile to the other to add to the feeling of movement throughout the piece. The St. Lawrence hockey arena was opened in 1951 and still has all of its original wood bleachers and ceilings. Since my first day at St. Lawrence I have wanted to find a way to use some of the old woodwork in my designs and this was the perfect opportunity. I had our photographer take detailed pictures of the bleachers and ceilings of the arena and used them as the background for the covers.
